Dr. Grossman is board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive spine techniques in the treatment of degenerative disease, deformity/scoliosis, and traumatic injuries. He is licensed to practice medicine in New York and New Jersey.
An alumnus of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Magna Cum Laude honors. He went on to complete a Master of Science in Computer & Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He then received a Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
He did his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He went on to complete specialty fellowship training in Spine Surgery at the University of California at San Diego Medical Center. Before coming to the Center for Spinal Disorders, he was a member of the Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group on Long Island, NY, where he specialized in both nonsurgical and surgical management of spinal disorders.
Prior to his tenure as a spine surgeon, he also worked for General Electric’s Global Research Center as a computer scientist and at the Biomedical Imaging Center at Robert Wood Johnson/UMDNJ Medical School. Dr. Grossman has conducted numerous research projects in his field, and co-authored articles for spine and orthopedic medical journals. In addition to his medical expertise, Dr. Grossman is a martial arts enthusiast and has trained across several disciplines. He has competed on both the state and national level in Taekwondo and kickboxing and has utilized his expertise to instruct and coach collegiately. As a long-distance runner, he has completed two marathons.
Dr. Grossman has a passion for technology and utilizes his engineering background to employ the latest advancements in surgical technique. He performs a high volume of cutting edge spinal procedures which include:
